Matching Donation Programs
Many employers participate in a matching gift program to match their employees’ charitable contributions. How it typically works is:
Employee donates $50 to DMRAAS. Employer has a matching gift policy of $25 and will match at a 1:1 ratio. After submitting a request to Employer’s HR team for matching, Employer will double the donation by also writing a check for $50.00, thus making the total donation, $100 (doubled).
The employee would most often need to initiate the matching gift through Employer’s HR team. Check with your employer’s HR team to see if they participate in a program such as this. You may need to complete paperwork provided by your employer and most likely will need to save the receipt. The matching gift request would come to us and we would request funds from the Employer.
This is an awesome and wonderful way to double your generous contribution!
Volunteer Matching Programs
Volunteer matching programs are corporate giving programs in which companies provide monetary donations to organizations where employees volunteer regularly.
If a like this program exists at your company, check with your company’s HR department for guidelines and for more information.
